Breeding the best little dogs in the world!

Our Extended Family...

Because we are a small-time breeding operation, we haven't sold many puppies yet. The people that we have placed our beloved puppies with have been AWESOME! My sister and I have met some amazing people while doing this, and enjoy keeping in touch with everyone on a regular basis. It's so neat to get pictures of our puppies and to be able to watch them grow up. We love to hear stories and updates, and consider our puppy clients part of our extended family.

April 5th, 2009 Litter (Araya and Calypso)

"R-Jay"

(Formerly River)

R-Jay is now living with Krista and Shawn in Newark, CA. They are taking wonderful care of him and he gets along great with their b/w Boston Hodgey. He has made himself right at home, and has been very outgoing and confident. Thanks for giving our boy such a perfect home!

"Leo"

(Formerly called "Trigger")

Leo has gone to live in Santa Clara, Ca with Kitt and Zim. They have given him such a wonderful home, and say that he is constantly amazing them with how smart he is! He loves to fetch, and has been doing great with his potty training. Thank you for being so good to my little man!!

"Sookie"

(Formerly Nora)

Sookie has gone to live with Mary and Ken and family in Fair Oaks, Ca. She now has a Jack Russell Terrier big brother named Conan. Sookie is very loved and well cared for, and has been very outgoing and confident. Thanks for taking wonderful care of our little girl!!

Feb. 1st, 2008 Litter (Araya and Calypso)

"Lulu"

Lulu (formerly Zulu) was my pick of the litter from Araya and Calypso's 2008 breeding. I had kept her as a potential breeding female. As she grew older it became obvious to me that her emotional needs were not being met in my home. In January 2008, I made the decision to try and find her an appropriate home, where she'd be the center of attention. I got very lucky, and she is now thriving in the care of the Halleran's in Modesto, CA. A husband, wife, and 2 lovely daughters who shower Lulu with affection. They are very pleased with Lulu, and have been taking wonderful care of her. I was sad to let her go, but I knew it was for her own good. Thank you for giving her exactly what she needed Tim, Linda and family!!

Feb. 1st, 2008 Litter (Araya and Calypso)

 "Sparks"

Formerly "Heart"

Heart is now being called "Sparks", which I think is adorable! What a wonderful home she has found with the Tawney family in Folsom, CA! They have been dog trainers for over 15 years, and Sparks is to be their 10 year old son Christopher's full-time best friend. According to mom she LOVES to swim, and is very "seal" like! She is also very obedient and is learning all kinds of fun new tricks. Thank you SO much for taking such great care of my precious little girl. You can see pics of her with her new family at www.norcaldogs.com

"Zeta"

This beautiful, sweet little female has gone to live with Tiffany, her husband Rob, and their Boston Terrier "Zeke" in Reno, NV. She has been doing great, is potty training well, and has been very outgoing/personable according to her new family. They say she is smart as a whip, and although she can be energetic, she has been extremely laid back. She's a lucky puppy, and we so appreciate her getting such a wonderful home!

"Gucci"

Formerly KaBoom!

This adorable little fella has found a wonderful home with Nancy in Martinez, CA. He shares his home with a female Boston Terrier named Coco. Nancy is big on fashion designers, so he has been appropriately named "Gucci". I think it suits him! The picture directly above is of him and his new buddy Louie the French Bulldog. Thank you Nancy for taking such good care of our little man.

"KamiKazi"

This sweet little boy has found a loving home with Wendy, her husband Jessie, and their young son Sergio in Corte Madera, CA. Kamikazi took right to Sergio, they were a match from the start. He's going to have a great life as an only dog, with TONS of attention! They are thinking about calling him "Comet"...very cute! We can't wait to hear updates on him, and get new pictures. Thank you for giving this puppy such a wonderful home!

"Cali"

Formerly Nova Leigh

Cali was removed from our breeding program due to her being too small in my opinion. I want what's best for my dogs, and with her topping out at only 13 pounds, I wasn't comfortable breeding her. She is now living in Sacramento, Ca with Mr. and Mrs. McClave. They are giving her a wonderful life, and are so happy to have her around.

"Molly"

Formerly "Henrietta"

Our sweet little Molly(as she is now called by her new family)was origianlly purchased as a breed quality female. Sadly, she just wasn't thriving in our Boston household, and we were having difficulty giving her the extra attention that she so needed. In addition to that, it turns out that she has grade 1 and grade 2 luxating patellas, and our Veterinarian advised that we do not breed her. So, she has found a WONDERFUL loving home in the Natomas area here in California. Her new mommy, Lisa, takes excellent care of her and Molly is doing great. She goes to the doggy park weekly, and gets daily walks with the family. Thanks a billion Lisa for taking such good care of our sweet little gal.

November 27th, 2006 litter (Araya and Murffy)

"Brian"

This handsome boy was one of only 2 puppies from the Araya and Murffy breeding, making him brother to Shakira, and half brother to Henrietta. Brian was lucky enough to go live with John and Brenda in Southern California. They love him dearly, and are giving him such a great life. Thanks guys! They were kind enough to submit a statement for the website regarding their experience with us:

"Last summer my husband and I decided that we wanted to get a companion for our nine month old Boston terrier. My husband did some research online and came across the California Chocolate Boston’s website. After checking out the photos and background information on Rachel and her dogs we decided to apply for one of her puppies. Within days of filling out the application we got a call from Rachel to follow up on the application and make sure we were truly interested in one of her puppies. From then on she was very open with the communication of when Araya would be in heat, and what the plan was for her insemination. We got multiple emails and phone calls from her throughout the entire pregnancy letting us know how things were going. During the pregnancy she let us know that there were going to be two puppies, one of which she was keeping, and the other would be ours. We were ecstatic! From the minute the puppies were born she emailed us pictures of their progress as well as updates on their health. It was a great experience because now we have a wonderful collection of pictures of our new puppy from birth until we brought him home. Rachel was also very accommodating when it came to the payment for the puppy. She allowed us to pay for the baby in three payments, instead of one large payment. She also made it very clear what we would receive at the time of purchase. Not only did we get a great little dog, we got a health guarantee, AKC certification, and BAER hearing certification. She also gave us a copy of all of the puppies’ medical records which we could take to our own vet. We’ve had Brian home now for 5 weeks, and he’s been a perfect little angel! We had our own vet check him out and she was not only impressed at how healthy he was, but at the thorough records that Rachel kept. This was a truly awesome experience for us and we would highly recommend California Chocolate Boston’s to everyone!"
